“This course provided me with valuable insights on these complex topics, and it has renewed my passion and energy to fight against human trafficking and conflict-related sexual violence. I have also had the opportunity to meet inspiring people from around the world and from various fields of study.”

Officially Registered Educational Institute (CRKBO) since April 2019.

A.A. van der Kaa Winter School Scholarship (Tilburg University Winter School)

A scholarship for a very specific and specialist Winter School Course: Justice for victims of conflict-related sexual violence and human trafficking?

I took this Course myself in 2018 for several reasons. First of all, out of interest in the topics of human trafficking and conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV). My 2017 trip to Rwanda as a sponsor of the Mukomeze Foundation together with Anne-Marie and Eefje [course instructors of the Winter School] also made a big impression on me. As well as the encounters with the people in Rwanda and the history they carry.

History shows that this can repeat itself if we do not learn from it. Partly for this reason, knowledge of CRSV and human trafficking is very important. I also know this from my working life as a social worker. Now that I have stopped working, I want to make it possible for young people to gain that knowledge through this scholarship. In the hope that during their working lives they will play an active role in the search for justice for victims of human trafficking and CRSV in whatever way possible.

Have fun learning.

Antoinette van der Kaa

If many requests are received, the selection committee may interview up to three people to make the final selection (including through a video call).
